choosing your wedding venue, storybrook farm wedding jonesborough, tnThere’s so many options for venues! There’s a lot of Knoxville wedding venues alone and then you can go to a neighboring city and find even more – Oak Ridge, Maryville, Farragut, etc. With so many options how do you narrow it down to just one? Well a few things you can start by looking at are :

  1. Style – First choose your style. Do you want classic, industrial, beach, mountains, rustic, etc.? Sit down and decide with your fiancé what style fits you both the best. Thankfully, you can find almost any style of venue right within Knoxville or within an hours drive. Including a beach! Did you know Hunter Valley Farm has a small beach area? It’s gorgeous!
  2. Budget – Once you’ve narrowed down your list to a few venues that fit your style, know what your budget is. Some venues include decor, a few items you could save on in rentals (chairs, linens, etc.), wedding day coordinator, and some include rain friendly options as well. Take all of this into account when choosing your venue!
  3. Guest Count – Think about how many guests you’ll be inviting. Some venues have ceremony and/or reception sites that will only fit 50 people while other venues have ceremony/reception sites that will seat a few hundred. There are many venues that have multiple ceremony sites as well.
  4. Location – This may or may not be a deciding factor in your wedding venue decision. I’ve had multiple brides just within the past year choose a venue outside of their hometown because it nailed the style they were looking for. Don’t be afraid to choose a venue that’s a little further away especially if it’s exactly what you’re looking for!

A few of my all time favorite venues are :

Storybrook Farm Weddings and Events

This venue is GORGEOUS! There are multiple ceremony sites, a tent for receptions, and the most beautiful flowers you’ve ever seen! The last wedding we shot there, Diane (the owner) was out in the hot sun pruning the flowers at the ceremony site making sure they were perfect before the ceremony started. They put so much work into this venue. Plus, Kayla, their Personal Wedding Assistant, is invaluable on a wedding day. Ya’ll she decorated, she coordinated, she was everywhere all at once but blended in behind the scenes. I know the couple loved having her as a part of their day. I can’t speak highly enough about this beautiful venue that has SO MANY gorgeous photo locations!!

If there’s one Knoxville Venue I could shoot at over and over again it’s WindRiver. It’s located in Lenoir City with views of Tellico Lake and WindRiver Golf Course. This venue is classy and upscale. There are multiple ceremony sites to choose from, event directors to help you plan, a gorgeous bridal suite and a spacious groom’s lounge. This is one venue you have to see! It’s absolutely beautiful!

Cooper’s Cove at Heritage Park

Ah, Cooper’s Cove. We shot our first wedding here when I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant after we had had an 8 hour, out of town wedding the day before.  Renee and Lance, the owners, were AMAZING to work with! Not only to to us, but to the couple and their guests as well. They worked quietly behind the scenes but were there at every turn to make sure no one needed anything. Cooper’s Cove also has multiple ceremony sites, a huge bridal suite, and a pavilion for receptions. Located in Townsend, TN it has the most beautiful mountain views in the background. We loved shooting here and can’t wait to visit again!

Allandale Mansion

What would this list be without the venue where we got married? I LOVE Allandale! Located in Kingsport, TN Allandale also has multiple ceremony sites, an indoor area for a reception, tons of photo locations, and a bride’s suite with the most beautiful light coming through! I love Allandale so much!
